Supersaver tickets

Since the timetable change in December 2021, the nationally known supersaver tickets have also been available on routes within the OSTWIND fare network during a two-year pilot phase.

Supersaver tickets will be offered outside peak hours on various bus and rail routes.

Supersaver tickets are only available via the following public transport web shops and apps: shop.ostwind.ch, unterwegs.sob.ch, sbb.ch and SBB mobile app.1. Enter the desired route and the desired day of travel in the shops or the app.

  2. If supersaver tickets are available, they will be displayed directly with a % symbol.
  3. Select your preferred connection, pay, print out your supersaver ticket or show the app or the QR code you received by e-mail when checking your ticket.

 

Important information

  • Supersaver tickets are only valid for the exact connection selected, are personal and non-transferable.
  • Supersaver tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.

Tips

  • Supersaver tickets are available on a limited basis no earlier than 60 days and no later than 1 hour before departure. If you buy early, you can save up to 70 % on the normal price.
  • It may also be worth looking for supersaver tickets in 1st class. Some of these are very attractive in terms of price.
  • Supersaver tickets are available for 1st and 2nd class. Offer subject to availability.
  • Supersaver tickets are available with up to 70 % discount on the normal and reduced price (half-fare travelcard; children from 6 to 15.99 years).
  • Children under 6 travel free of charge.
  • For your dog, buy a supersaver ticket with discount (half-fare travelcard) for 2nd class. The supersaver ticket must be in the owner's name.

Validity

  • The supersaver ticket is only valid for the selected day of travel and the selected public transport connection (train and bus connection).

Special offer conditions

  • The number of supersaver tickets is limited.
  • Supersaver tickets can be purchased no earlier than 60 days before the desired travel date.
  • Supersaver tickets are available via the webshop or the smartphone app.
  • Class, route or train changes are not possible with the supersaver ticket.
  • The Junior or Children's travelpass is valid in combination with a supersaver ticket.

 Refunds

Supersaver tickets are generally neither exchanged nor refunded.

 Supersaver tickets can, in a few exceptions, be refunded in accordance with fare 600.9, point 8 at points of sale with electronic sales equipment and access to the customer dossier. If you have missed the booked connection or wish to travel at a different time, you can buy a ticket at the normal fare for the same day and have the supersaver ticket refunded after the journey. To do so, you must present the original supersaver ticket as well as the original ticket purchased at the normal fare. Only tickets with the identical route can be refunded. A reduced deductible of CHF 10 is charged for refunds in accordance with T600.9.

 In the event of train cancellations, delays or route interruptions, you can use the next connection. The provisions of Tariff 600 apply mutatis mutandis to supersaver tickets.

How do I get a supersaver ticket for a return trip?

You can easily obtain supersaver tickets for a return trip in the OSTWIND or SBB Webshop and in the SBB Mobile and SBB Preview apps. First select the outward trip and then the return trip.

Can Supersaver Tickets be combined with normal tickets?

Yes, combining a supersaver ticket for the outward journey with a single ticket at the normal fare for the return trip (or vice versa) is always cheaper than a day pass for the corresponding zones at the normal fare for the same route.

Is the half-fare travelcard valid for supersaver tickets?

Yes. With the half-fare travelcard, you benefit from an additional discount of up to 50% on half the ticket price.

I missed the supersaver-fare connection I booked. Can I use the supersaver ticket to choose a later connection?

If you have missed the booked connection or would like to travel at a different time, you can buy a ticket at the normal fare for the same day and have the supersaver ticket refunded after the journey. To do so, you must present the original supersaver ticket as well as the original ticket purchased at the normal fare. Only tickets with the identical route can be refunded. Refunds can be made at points of sale with electronic sales equipment and access to the customer dossier. A reduced deductible of CHF 10 is charged for refunds in accordance with T600.9.

Why do I have to give my last name, first name and date of birth when buying a ticket?

Supersaver tickets are OnlineTickets and are personal. At the ticket inspection, you must therefore identify yourself with your half-fare travelcard or an official form of identification (e.g. ID).

Are Junior Cards and Children's Travelcards valid in conjunction with a supersaver ticket?

Yes.

Are supersaver tickets available for dogs or bicycles?

You can buy a supersaver ticket for dogs in 2nd class with a half-fare travelcard (even if you are travelling in 1st class). Please state the name of the person accompanying the dog when purchasing. There are no supersaver tickets for bicycles.

Why are there different prices for the same route?

The prices depend on the respective capacity utilisation and the attractiveness of the corresponding connection.

Aren't passengers with GA, OSTWIND travelcard or half-fare travelcard at a disadvantage with the supersaver tickets?

No, GA and OSTWIND travelcard customers continue to travel on the entire public transport network for a whole year at a very attractive all-inclusive price. Half-fare travelcard customers benefit from even lower prices thanks to the supersaver ticket.

Aren't commuters at a disadvantage with the supersaver ticket?

No. Even commuters can benefit from supersaver tickets during their leisure time.

Why can supersaver tickets only be bought online and via apps?

The offers and prices for supersaver tickets are constantly changing. We can change the prices quickly on the Internet and in the apps so that you can find the supersaver ticket that suits you best.

I bought a normal ticket and only saw afterwards that supersaver tickets are also available for this route. Can I have the normal ticket refunded?

An exchange before the first day of validity is possible for a fee of CHF 10.
