OSTWIND is that simple

Within the OSTWIND Network, zone tickets have replaced point-to-point tickets. However, you can still enter your start and destination when purchasing a ticket. The system automatically calculates your zone ticket. The advantage of this is that it is not only valid for the selected route during the period of validity, but also for all other trains and buses in these zones. This means that your OSTWIND ticket from Appenzell to St.Gallen is also valid for connections on the St.Gallen city buses. If you choose an OSTWIND day ticket for the outward and return journey, you can also use the VBSG buses all day.

Always the right ticket

These tickets are particularly suitable for travelling by train and bus in your free time:

  • Single ticket (Einzelbillet): Journeys within the purchased zones and time
  • Day ticket (Tageskarte): return journey on the same day incl. use of other trains and buses in the zones purchased
  • Multi-journey tickets (Mehrfahrtenkarte): 6 single journeys on the same route (8% discount)
  • 9 o'clock day ticket (OSTWIND 9-Uhr-Tageskarte): Often the cheapest choice: use of all trains and buses from 9 a.m. on the day of validity (weekends/holidays: unlimited)
  • Day ticket plus (Tageskarte Plus): All trains and buses and many ships included: see area of validity
  • OSTWIND supersaver ticket (OSTWIND Sparbillett): early selection of a specific connection at the most favourable price
  • Annual or monthly travelcards (Jahres oder Monatsabos): for commuters and frequent travellers
